Sustainability Science Education Program
The Education program for sustainability science of IR3S – “Graduate Program in Sustainability Science (GPSS)” – was established in 2007 as an interdisciplinary program of 5 departments in the Division of Environmental Studies at the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences. This program offers MSc (Sustainability Science) and PhD (Sustainability Science) degrees.
IR3S links GPSS with various educational resources in the University of Tokyo, and promotes the development of its network worldwide. In 2011, a PhD education program for global leadership jointly applied by GPSS, IR3S and the United Nations University was adopted, and the “Graduate Program in Sustainability Science – Global Leadership Initiative” has been started.
